From excelling in the classrooms of Ysgol Greenhill School, Tenby, to working on digital campaigns and media production for businesses across Pembrokeshire and the UK, Joseph “Joe” Hurlow’s journey is fast becoming one of the county’s standout stories.
Joe, from Saundersfoot, was a student who saw academic success at Ysgol Greenhill School before pursuing a Digital Marketing Level 3 qualification and apprenticeship at Gower College in Swansea. A stepping stone that propelled him into a career with one of Pembrokeshire’s fastest-growing creative agencies, Whitestone Media Group.
At Whitestone, Joe now plays a pivotal role in shaping the digital presence for hundreds of businesses. From eye-catching website design to brand development and fully integrated marketing strategies, his work has helped local companies compete with national brands to make their mark online.
Reflecting on his journey, Joe said: “I’ve always been fascinated by the way technology works and the real-world impact it can have. Leaving sixth form, I had no clear career path that I wanted to pursue. However, when I saw the apprenticeship listing appear online, I felt it made sense as the next step for me. Completing my digital marketing qualification gave me the tools to turn that passion into a career. It’s been an amazing experience working with local businesses to help them grow, while also working with national brands that I never expected to collaborate with.”
Whitestone Media Group’s reputation has been built on exactly these kinds of stories – young local talent using cutting-edge skills to drive real-world business growth. With a client base now ranging from small Pembrokeshire start-ups to established UK and international companies, their portfolio of work demonstrates the importance of combining local creativity with international ambition.
Joe’s story is one that could inspire many young people in Pembrokeshire, showing that with dedication, creativity, and the right training, it is possible to turn classroom potential into a career that makes a lasting impact on businesses.
As the digital world continues to evolve, Joe and Whitestone Media Group remain committed to pushing boundaries – showing that homegrown talent from West Wales can achieve international reach of larger companies whilst still delivering the personalised service and attention to detail which sets them apart.
